( I would suggest reading JamesMichaels' "At This Very Moment You Only Have Today ", first) Choices Stuck… in the middle of the street, cars whizzing by on both sides, inches away, the suction of their passing threatening to drag me along like so much flotsam in a raging stream. One step either way and it’s flesh and blood ground into concrete cracks, unrecognizable as the living, breathing being that moments before only wanted to cross the street. Mired in the overwhelming love of me for you, caught between everything we treasured, the words spoken in private, the pleasures we shared, the dreams, the plans, the perfect world we envisioned, and you saying goodbye, go away… don’t come back anymore. I watch the bus changing lanes half-a-block away, moving to the left, as if it knows it’s time to feed; getting close, so it can suck me up, obliterating the terrible agony of a two-piece heart, shattered soul, soundlessly screaming mind. One step and you’re gone for good, so much cemetery fodder, fit only for a paupers closed casket, remembered only by the passengers on the bus wondering how someone could do such a thing. But they don’t know you, what you’ve done. They don’t know the pain of an undying death; the terrible emptiness of love gone bad. The bus approaches, gaining speed, grill evily smiling, and I do the only thing left… I race to the sidewalk, look back, see the bus going away, and think… To Hell with you, tomorrow’s a brand new day. w. james beard, jr. |

A great response to James poem. A different one for you Jimmy. Enjoyed the ending as it was the beginning of maybe a new love. ~V~ Love: A temporary insanity curable by marriage. by Ambrose Bierce |

I love the first and last stanzas, so much turmoil in the first, great resolve found in decisions made |

Yes a very nice slice of life...sometimes the things we are going through can affect this very moment in monumental ways...James |
