It's dark and creepy in this south Louisiana swamp where I reside. But even darker and creepier thoughts have taken up residence with me. Stagnation is its name. Stagnation is a carbuncle, which, if left alone will surely take the place of actual life and breath. Look into the eyes of the next person you perceive to have been smitten with the stagnation curse.
You may have to look in the mirror.
There you will plainly see the desire of these misguided souls to chance nothing in, and for, life. They tread water in a deep, cold, and cavernous pool of existence. They think it not important to take on life and strive for all it holds, and even make fun of those who do seek a better way, a more comfortable life. They're content to sit home and wait for . . .
The Check.
This way they avoid being defeated in the game of life. Their life is managed and controlled by Big Brother. Defeat is something to fear and run from. Better do nothing than to strike out on a new road. For up ahead they may run into a fork in that road; thus a choice must be made, and on an on it goes. Who knows where the road they have chosen will take them? No, it's better to sit and mold grow old and ferment into a hazy resemblance of oneself. Generation . . . after . . . generation . . . after . . .
To stagnate is to never see the sun.

Jerry I love the show Swamp People and it is creepy at night when they are catching frogs and snakes and those alligators. I like that other show too about cops in the bayou but I cant remember the name right off hand. Enjoyed your words Jerry.

Sorry to say I haven't seen those shows. I gave up on television three years ago when I moved after my wife died. I don't miss it, although there were a few shows I liked, but not enough of them to continue paying the bill every month.
Thanks for your nice0-nice, Victoria, it is appreciated.~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~

Amazing how well you put words, and verses together and make so much sense out of life. Great job, my friend!
