Getting Ready to Say Goodbye to Freddie

He called his sweetheart
to say goodbye
and she replied;
he musn't call
and say goodbye
because she wasn't ready
to say goodbye to Freddie,
she needed more time
if she could just have
more time then she'd be fine,
more time to pretend
more time to find a new friend
another man that would start
to let her peek into his heart,
another man to call her his sweetheart,
surely then she would be ready
to say goodbye to Freddie.
