I'm afraid of the dark
darkness is lethal to me you see

she was sloe-eyed and mysterious
I said let's move into the light then

No! darkness or light
will kill me instantly

she stood in the shadows of the alley
neither in light or in dark

using a newspaper
I'd bought from a rack of papers
I held it over her head
as we made our way to my place
I turned all the lights off when we entered

she smiled and began to sing
something by Pat Benatar
then began quoting something in French

my guiding Angel
is forever scandalized by what I do

she pulled a pack of cigarettes
from her cleavage
I lit it with my well-worn Zippo
I don't smoke
but can't seem to get rid of the lighter

she began to hum something out of tune
kicked off a shoe
placed her foot on the sofa
to better peel off a nylon stocking

OOOOH...Jerreee, you have really done it this time!...beautiful story poem.
Where is my zipper? Oops! Freudian slip...I meant to say Zippo.

Eh, yes, I have heard on good authority, Lady, that you are an excellent hummer. Appreciate the read and comments. AT&T has been working on the lines today and my computer has been down a few hours.
