To Get Away from Me I mean its not her fault if she doesn't want to live in Hawaii (possibly mine) take me for example I don't want to live in Chicago I don't even want to visit Chicago and she did come to Hawaii many times, until I told her not to visit anymore, after she came enough times to figure out that she preferred Chicago over me. Life is about choices and locations and in this case I wish she had chosen Hawaii and me. I've had a rather long string of 'lovely ladies' who chose places, things, or other materialistic circumstances over me ... so, I can certainly (all too well) 'relate' to his 'slice-of-real-life' write. I guess I'm just a grand fool and 'incurable Romantic' ... but, I still believe that only people and love should 'matter.' |

Sounds like she did all the traveling to you. Kind of a one-way street. I don't think she chose Chicago over Hawaii, I I think she chose self identity over selfishness. Only reason I said selfishness is because you said you are the one who broke it off, not her. That being so, why do you write these poems complaining about the the fact that you ran her off. Perhaps you should pick another subject for your poetry. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (10-21-2012 09:02 AM).] |
