When Pheromones Took Breath Away (from The Faces of Love) I would be as a virgin butterfly lazily soaring in the air, sunlight warming night cooled wings, unaware of pheromone trails taking breath away - I would be a touch of lace shadowing bare flesh above my heart so your eyes could guess, but not quite see, the hint of flesh exposed - naked flesh, come alive in the morning sun. I would give your hand the warmth of gentle touch in places no eye but mine has seen, and share with you a passion that would make even angels, shyly avert their gaze. I would love you in such a way we'd blind the stars with the light we made, just as we did so long ago, in the youth of our days, before age took so much away. I'll hold your hand, look you in the eye, tell you I love you , even now, as I did then - it's only the flesh, the years have slowed. Inside, the fires still rage, the passion flares and I'm still that butterfly who fell in love that sunlit day, when pheromones took breath away . . . even, now, as then, as pheromones take my breath away . . . © wesley james beard, jr. Ah, I hear you, J., those darn pheromones just will not leave us be, and thank goodness for that. Sometime these pheromones assault me threefold and then some. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Hmmm, the chemicals of attraction compel me to react...sometimes, automatically...makes me wonder...do I really experince freewill or am I in need of outside control in the "civilized" world of man. Interesting poem... |

Something mysterious about chemical attraction. Sometimes its just a glance or a smile but then you kick yourself for not being more aggressive. ~Victoria~ "If music be the food of love, play on." (William Shakespeare) |
