Daddy I'll miss you, I wish you didn't have to go, Daddy I'll miss you, I wish you had said no. I hung my head in utter sorrow, As I end my fourth grade year, Knowing I won't see you tomorrow, Was enough to bring on the tears. Daddy I'll miss our motorcycle rides, I wish you didn't have to go, Daddy I'll miss sneaking ice cream behind mommy's back, I wish you had said no. I thought today was a great day, The sky was the prettiest shade of blue, The thing that ruined the day was what mom had to say, It was about you. Daddy I'll miss flying kites with you, I wish I could change that day, Daddy your eyes were full of life and the brightest hue, I wish I could change the day you were taken away. Your not completely gone, I see you once a year, I hate having to wait so long, When I do I have to choke back tears. Daddy I miss you, You say I won't understand, Daddy I know and I knew, I know it wasn't part of the plan. |
