Across The Span Of Time (Part-II) Copyright 2012 by:Mark V Sheldon I’m lost within your sweet perfume And float upon your voice Though not one to ever assume, I leave you with no choice I clutch your hand in ginger grip And lead you to the dance Whispers heard as glances slip Our faces in a trance Your laughter joins the harpsichord We waltz past royalty You are not new to being adored But now, you are with me A duke attempts to come between And win your favor when Your turning smile starts a scene We disappear and then We laugh out loud as we explore Your warm hand still in mine The endless halls and corridors Not knowing what we’ll find I ask if you are here for long Forever, you reply Your teasing tone is like a song I want to sing tonight You comment on a tapestry Which drapes the wall of stone Your vibrant hair is all I see And that we are alone… You turn to me with sudden pause Your eyes betray intent I gently lift your chin because I can’t resist your scent You close your eyes as I approach Suspended within time I taste your lips without reproach Remembering you’re mine… You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: |
