His hand touched her thigh as if she was losing her sight that night With such a strong pull the owls from the backyard trees stared in wonder Stared under a theme of scenes that touched the sides of her skin as if he was a dying patient in the English pasture where the only sight of hope lay in the grey overcast of each passing day He touched her slender skin for the air did not trust the sky to let the sun beg its heart amongst the wide, channel rivers that beckoned the city streets as the children climbed the olive, tree branches He touched her thigh, once more just as she quivered like the breeze that sailed through the marble carved counters Just a quiet arm around her shoulder gentle, as the woods sat and whispered. |
