Across The Span Of Time (Part-III) Copyright 2012 by: Mark V Sheldon Their voices in the distance Your cooing in my ear Complete lack of resistance While pulling you in near When sudden footsteps echo Around the corridor We open door and both know To hide and say no more With baited breath, we listen He stops outside our room His eyes, like fire glisten As he enters with a boom Convinced the chamber’s empty He leaves indignantly And you resume to tempt me With smile of victory Embracing with new fervor The window’s moon our light Behind you a tall mirror Reflects you in the night I notice something on it I gesture you to see Inscription as a sonnet We both begin to read: “Many stood in front of me Looking but they could not see Vanity will interfere Casting off all that is near Gaze upon reflection seen Pause for wisdom you might glean Doors will close to keep you out If your heart has any doubt Other doors give entry to Places, times, and things all new Only you can choose your path Such will be the aftermath So, if distance matters not And speed is as fast as thought Ask yourself what you will see Given opportunity? If you comprehend this rhyme Reach across the span of time…” I look at your expression And see within your eyes We both have comprehension What fate before us lies We clasp hands with conviction And start to concentrate What once was our reflection Is now an open gate… You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: http://educate-yourself.org/intro.shtml |

quote: Brilliant stanza, Mark. The quicksand of terror combined with lust and question abound within the framework of Part-III of your well-written saga. quote: This is speaking to me, and you, in the next verses explain how you feel I will react. Gotta love it! ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

This is wonderful! Your words flow smooth as silk and the story catches you hook, line and sinker! It is indeed like a dream and I'm lovin' it too. Lori ![]() |

Jerry: Thank you for the read and comments. A fellow adventure-seeker, I see...? ![]() Lori: Life would be very dull indeed without dreams... thank you for sharing mine and for the lovely compliments. Karen: Glad you're enjoying the journey. I wonder what lies beyond that gate... -MVS You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: |

Thank you, Michael for the high praise -- it means a lot coming from an accomplished poet such as yourself. Who said anything about "ending"...? ![]() -MVS You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: |
