Flowers invite the glances, the blue colors which distinguish themselves from greens shaded banks, the rhythm of the wind in cornflowers is as a music for eyes, here are perfumes which bees follow and their hummings prove that you exist more, there would be a man otherwise there would be nothing wrote the poet Paul Eluard, maybe Paul, but would the man know that he exists without the universe which surrounds him, without flowers, without mountains where grow flowers, without the animals which fight under the sun, Who would you be, you which looks at these things without the perfume of a soap, without the rumbling of a dog, all these soft and mobile things as spring in Sussex, O iMaytime come cherishing us as children fallen in a flower not wanting to come out of it any more. a poem inspired by a musician i discovered a few days ago (Arnold Bax) his work is called Maytime in Sussex [This message has been edited by 2islander2 (02-04-2012 12:30 PM).] |

This was just subtly beautiful, Yann. Who indeed, are we without the environment to mold and help shape us? Who indeed? ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I believe without the nature around us and the beauty that it brings there would be no man. I have never seen cornflowers, but I don't believe the world would be the same without them having existed. So loving this, yann. Alison |

Yann, I always enjoy your wonderful and original thoughts of philosophy and the beauty of nature and the way you express them, and this poem is one of your loveliest. It is very special when a piece of music inspires such immersion in thought and you had me feeling, in particular, the essence of the music (though I don't know it nor the musician) and experiencing maytime in Sussex with all of my senses - and in the greater picture, the immensity of how our beautiful world impacts on us and carries us. Dear Yann, while reading for the second time your enchanting poem I listened contemporaneously to "Maytime in Sussex" and it was a stunning combination indeed. Music brings everything into the most harmonious perspective and your words do this truth justice. Excellent work. Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

thanks margherita, you are lucky to have found this piece of music, i am discovering it these days and i am immerging in 20th century music i had eluded accidentally, it seems we have a lot to discover with talented but ignored musicians, thanks for reading and commenting yann |
