A Death In The Family It's not the shadows that lurk in the hollow, dark areas, where mismatched corners meet; nor is it the shoes so perfectly placed at the foot of the bed we shared; and pray, don't let it be the darkness in my heart where love so brilliantly glowed . . . but, it is. And not because love has tarnished, or dulled. It is because there is a death in this family, and though I die with every second, of every day . . . it was not mine. © wesley james beard, jr. august 2012 Note: Not about me ... but of those who have lost their inner-most hearts ... several friends of mine, and recently. Tears for them. |

It is a tragic situation, J. Nothing hurts quite as much as a shattered, broken heart. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Jwesley, It is as if you knew... this has touched me deeply. August , 2012. The light was warm and glowing while we were in celebration of hi life. It's becoming more difficult to jump start the day, but the empathy I felt in your poem is of help. Thank you for posting such a heart felt poem cathy |
