I am losing you to shadows, before they came we were linked, entwined, and complete. We were two made one. Now shadows wreath around us clouding your mind, stealing your essence. Sometimes I see a shadow of memory in your eyes and you smile at me. Golden autumn leaves drifting, fragments of memory which flake from your soul. Now it seems that you have only echoes. I bring you photographs and read you letters from friends and family, hoping for a small miracle. Yet I know the shadows are winning this war. Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

Tragic. When the shadows assert themselves it is a long, slow process to the end. Hopefully, in this case, the shadows will indeed cease and desist. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Sometimes I see a shadow of memory in your eyes and you smile at me. ~*~ Such lovely words encompassing such a heavy reality. Sending hugs... |

This is achingly sad, Marsha. Your fortitude, positivity and gut-wrenching kindness and compassion towards the person drifting in and out of the shadows, is inspiring. Tears and prayers for you both and the family Owl |

Hi all this was written as the first in a series on dementia for my last poetry course. Part of the reason you see so little of me on the boards these days is not because I do not want to be here and play with you all but until my Degree is finished I really do not have the time. But sometimes I pop in and lurk in the shadows reading beauty and drinking it in before I plunge headfirst into the University world again. Still my time of incarceration in the halls of academia will be coming to an end at the end of July next year when I should graduate unless something terrible happens. I’m pleased you liked this piece, it has been reworked so it isn’t exactly the same as submitted coursework, which is how I can post it. Remember me kindly if you do not see me for a little while, I am about just waiting in shadows until I have the time to burst into the sunshine of your eyes once more. as always Mushy x x x x x x x Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

I am so glad I'd talked to Gray fairly recently... for your words are so touching and poignant and real the fear rose in my throat regardless! *S* And that, dear lady, is some fine writing!!! LOL I know you don't get to post very often, but your work is worth waiting for!!! Good luck to you in your classes, hugs and much love to you and Gray... Love you! |

JL, Thank you Startime as always you are far too kind James Thank you, but truthfully my work needs work even I know that. I’m heading for a 2.1 or so I’ve been told, if I could write as well as you I’d be heading for a First. Suthern beloved one Thank you, it does my heart good to see your beauteous smile on these pages. Gray is well, well as well as he can be at the moment. He has got over the pneumonia, but his legs are very bad now so he’s not getting around at all. And have I said how much I love you Lady? Because I surely do I am so pleased this poem generated such a lovely response. And I thank you all so much x x as always Mushy Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |
