EARTH UNTO EARTH 12 August 2012 Splattered single coral Erythrina tears bleeding orange memories on my verandah in high wind’s fury. I see you and revere you and mourn your passing. Namaste, my precious flowers, you will live on in me and in the nectar trumpets the wind didn’t shake from your parent tree for we are all one. Owl |

Smiles, Amaryllis (and an amaryllis is such a beautiful flower). I am glad they were the good kind and that you felt it so well and enjoyed it. Thank you for your lovely comment. Owl |

Thank you warmly, Marsha. I just write what is in my eyes, my heart, my soul and I have been richly blessed to feel the intense joy and pain of so much around me. I have learned, as I can see you have too in your great wisdom and comprehension of things incomprehensible, that the pain is the price we pay for the joy, and it is a price that you and I and many others have learned to pay - and therein is conceived another poem to be nurtured before its eventual birth. PS Coming back to add this post script after having just read your comment in your poem, 'Losing you to the Shadows' which initially I took for being an event in your life. I am very heart-warmed to discover that I was wrong. However, that doesn't change a thing about what I said of you above or in my reply to 'Losing you to the Shadows' - if anything, it emphasises it, because you have learned before the experience, not because of it, and that is the most difficult. Good luck with your studies. I know how exciting it is. I also did my degree (BA, thus warmly humanitarian) as a adult and found that I immersed myself even more in the richness of what I learned about the world and myself than I would have been able to straight from school. The piece of paper at the end was nice - OK, very nice, and also useful, but the journey is what I remember the most - and that was way back in 1977, 8 and 9! Enjoy your studies, work hard, keep calm and get enough sleep. We will be looking forward to your triumphant return as soon as you are ready. Owl |
