Your my Knight in shining armor With your sword held in your hand Heading out to battle To protect and save our land Before you go, Let me show How much you mean to me For I fear each time you leave Twill be the last I see of thee Time is short, this I know The enemies steeds I can hear Let me kiss each eye look upon you one more time Whisper Godspeed into thine ear Lord, while your away I'll be on my knees And do nothing but pray That the soil not thirst For Your blood on this day Hours have passed And the clashing of the swords Has ceased at last, but from my spot I'll not move For I already hear the wooden wheels on cobble stones, and the tears full of all my fears to prove Then come the foot steps approaching Behind me, I simply cannot breath For is it you or a messanger To tell me of your leave You place your hand gently upon My shoulder, mine touches yours as Quickly as it can I take a breath, A sob escapes As I place my cheek upon Your blood soaked hand Thank You ~~~Connie~~~ [This message has been edited by Zinsser (edited 09-07-2001).] © Copyright 2001 Connie McDonald - All Rights Reserved |

Loved the continuity in this poem. Sometimes with longer poetry we tend to wander about. I liked the message you delivered also. Good work. ~*~ they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |
