Growing Pains We couldn't grow while together. I guess we held each other back. Alone, we pushed on to better Ourselves for all we lacked. Now I see the changes you've made, After all I put you through... And for all I wish we could've stayed Together, hey now, just look at you. Now I can definately say You're better off without me. And there's no denying today What even this blind man's eyes see... You're happy - you're almost glowing, Freed from this miserable cloud. And to see just how you're growing, Even at this distance, make me so proud. I always knew you had it in you. 'still not sure what you saw in me But, who knows, maybe I've grown some too, And it's just something I can't see. Though I really doubt it, walking home alone, If somewhat content to still feel That maybe, at least, I was a stepping stone, Helping guide you to something real. I hope every happiness finds its way to you, I can think of no one more deserving. May the Fates be kind, and the Virtues true, And the path before you unswerving. For if I've learned a thing, or even two, From a destiny cast to starkness... It's o.k. for me to still love you, I just have to do it from the darkness. Michael Anderson |

Oh Michael, this poem reminds me of a classic movie where the gentleman (her true love) is unrecognized, yet remains faithfully hers; and then one day... May you have your one day Well done, Ms. E |

I can relate to this Michael. It is a complete and overpowering true love that can say the things you have said here and mean them. I salute you, Sir! ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Moving poem, Michael. Shows a lot of "growth" I would say. Helen |

You have me in tears my amazing friend. I can so relate to these words but at the same time I am still in the depth of the pain of break up that can't see him better off without me. I think he just threw away the best thing that ever happened to him....hmmm am I being too conceited? |

When a loved one's happiness is more important than our own, especially when their attainment of that glow comes at our expense... that is love. "But, who knows, maybe I've grown some too, And it's just something I can't see." It's hard for stepping stones to stand up and look around. *S* But once you raise your head?? Vision improves immensely. *S* |
