I guess there are times in every poet's life where times get in the way of mood, where certain cocoons make her seclude, tornadoes roar through to make her unglued- or even just the stillness of it all turns thoughts into food, and though the darkness holds no voices there is a harrowing feud where the meaning of life gets misconstrued... where she has to find herself before she can ever be alone, before her head can be viewed, before her heart is renewed and she makes her way home. A poem begins with a lump in the throat. ~Robert Frost |

Yes to all that you said, passing shadows. Cocoons and tornadoes are all an evil part of a poet's life. Still, after the cocoons and tornadoes have swept through our thoughts we are able to see more clearly and projects our thought more understandable than before, so the evil turns into a Godsend. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

It's a strange feeling when one can view themselves abstractly... and even stranger the truths they behold from that vantage point. You can still go home after that, but it's never the same. Enjoyable read. Michael |

The only 'curse' truly worse than being a 'poet' is likely also being a secular humanist and environmentalist ... all of whom are likely taken far less seriously than professional turnip jugglers by 'the world' ! |

Well, Jerry summed that up quite well. Love the in depth search from your perceptive. A good read to create fodder for thinking. Eric |

passing shadows - It seems that we poets write from both our pains and our pleasures turning them into words that give the same consolation as a priest who hears confession, a surgeon who heals a pain or a mechanic who replaces a broken part. Perhaps therein lies the reason why people look into our poetic windows to catch a glimse of Beauty, Love, Truth and Duty etc. with a hope that some of it might just rub off. It isn't blood that flows in our poet's veins. It's ink, hopefully of the indelible kind that even helps renew a poet's heart trying to get home. Much enjoyed PS. Namyh |

thank you each for these great replies I am glad you enjoyed this top-of-the-head write... it's a little of what I've gone through in these many months of not really being here I remember getting on here the moment I opened my eyes in the morning till I closed them again at night. Hope I get that inspiration back in between this lovely thing called Facebook and its never-ending games |

It's that old saying, what goes around comes around, is what I think you were getting at here in your own adept way, passing shadows, and you did a good job of it.
