If only I had one of his poems. It doesn’t have to be the one written with me in mind- Just something. His work inspired the poet I am at this moment, and yet I cannot remember a single poem he’d read to me. Well, that’s not true. I can remember two. One- a poem by Bukowski, a poem I’d fallen in love with in an instant. Two- the only original poem I remember him reading me: “Death.” No, that’s not the title. The entire poem consisted of one word and punctuation. But I want more. This memory of mine has failed me. I want to read the beautiful words of such an interesting man. I want to ingest the talent he’d so willingly shared with me night after night those two summers ago. Just one (more) of his poems and maybe I’d be satisfied. Or maybe it would leave me craving more. More beauty. More honesty. More of the truest possible descriptions of reality. I may never read another word written by his mind other than an update on a social networking site- but until I do, this feeling will linger. It’s lingered for years, it will linger for more. *Amber |

I hear you, and like I said in the "Pocket Full of Lint" poem, it will show up. It will. Patience. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
