Love is a lady. Love is a baby. Love is a gentleman. Love is a highwayman. Love is a mangy cur. Love is a pedigree cats purr. Love is a society dame. Love is a trailer-trash Jane. Love is John Paul II Love is Tennessee snake handlers I reckon. Love is being nice when no one knows. Love is making someone's face glow. Love is a tow-headed little suburban boy. Love is a nappy-headed little urban boy. Love is a fresh coat of paint. Love is your personal patron saint. Love is a rain shower for plants to drink. Love is its flowers blooming so pink. Love is chicken soup when you feel ill. Love is an arched brow giving you a chill. Love is a tongue in your ear. Love is a soft spoken, "Dear." Love is a caressing, wrinkled hand. Love is a brand new wedding band. Love is sipping soda through a straw. Love is forgiving others flaws. Love is calloused hands awkwardly holding child. Love is a happy smile. Love is shedding silent tears of happiness Love is being swept up in devotions abyss. Love is a beautiful sunrise. Love is seeing the same beauty in your lovers eyes. Love is America with all its diversity. Love is individual power because we are free. ©Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ Yes, size matters, but sighs matters more ~*~ |

You played the rhythms of love with your sensitive heart and the melody that you convey is deeply enthralling and charming. Very inspiring too! To read and enjoy more than once .... Margherita ![]() |

Ah, you rhyme well when you opt to do it, friend. Love "IS" many many things, that's for sure... but I think trailer trash Jane has to be the greatest of all. ![]() Great write, JP. Michael |

Haha! Yeah, Michael, trailer trash Jane sorta appealed to me too. Thanks, man, for being here <><> Thank you so much, Marti. If we can see the wonder of sunsets in our lover's eyes we are completely bewitched, and that isn't a bad way to be. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Jerry Of all things listed, this one strikes home the most. "Love is calloused hands awkwardly holding child." I was afraid to hold my first child, when he was very small..I thought the hard scrabble life I was leading then would somehow make me drop him..but I didn't and found that my strength could be channeled into gemtle with the right stimulus... I do like the rest of the poem, but that line stood out.. |

Thanks, Ice, and I absolutely understand the background of why you liked that particular line. I understand because that was also me. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
