it was tiptoe up, on hide it pretty among the peeking limbs of the beckon tree she said it had been broken once before but she glued it back with hoping powder and some tears she found on her cheek skin it was a toy box of many colors, lovely pale places with shimmer song reflections like mirrors that make everything right again and sigh words she had found beside highways when she was chasing dreams with netless handles she dumped out her treasures on my table pieces of shudder and folded little almostings she spread them around before my eyes and asked the daddy man to count their value as she would trade them for one warm tomorrow I told her they were too priceless to steal but I would keep the toy box for her safety and she could play with her pieces daily while the sun wore her charms as a pendant and she wore my eyes like man hand windows she handed me the key with only a smile attached ________________ daark |

Her hands hold so much hope The way children hold butterflies Cocooned and full of possibilities, And color, and simple things There is freedom in this, and that is nice, even when a key is more than a key. |

Dark, This is one of the most hopeful poems that I have read. It does something to me inside - kind of makes me want to cry because I feel it so deeply. As always and even more than always, I love how you create images with unusual word marriages. folded little almostings Love that. Just love it. I am loving this poem and am saving it. This might be my favorite poem ever. Thank you for writing and sharing. Ali-san |
