Birds perch upon the highest bough not scared to slip and fall in this life stripped bare and devoid of the meaningful. How firm their faith in love that through grace allows true flight to acquire and imbibe lasting sustenance. And through winter’s tunnel they’ll arrive into the glorious and their song though never silenced will more strident pierce denial. But, but, but, and, oh, another but there are lands where birds don’t go and mankind that will not grasp how faith always provides. It’s not to say that idle hands must rest content in uselessness because always in the physical we’re called to honour life. Yet and yet, and, oh, another yet how to honour the stripped bare and effortlessly glide through winter’s deadly tunnel? Through faith, of course, simple faith so easy but made difficult to acquire and imbibe until summer comes again! Helen / 1 June 2012 |

I have discovered that your own self importance to be as beneficial as the faith theory, Helen. Well, anyway, it sure works for moi. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Yes, Jerry, both play their part - one perhaps bolsters the other but ... I would hate to be the one to suggest which one unless you pay me, of course. |

Thanks, Startime. I think I'm in the early stages of remembering. It sometimes takes a long time before we can give faith the credit. Tests the nettle it does. |

The Brown Thrasher: Hi,Helen Your last poem likened a bird who sits high in a tree to life as it is lived. So I had to send this~~~ to you I have been enthralled with this bird. First I saw him was this year. He does not stay in view long. But he is a songster. Is in the mocking bird family along with the Mocking bird and the Cat bird. I saw behind my trees in a large area of twigs and leaves a large round circle about 18 inches in diameter and the top of it was covered very neatly with gray bird feathers, maybe from the Doves. Next day I peeked in and the feathers were topped with leaves. Today the whole circle is topped with Palm Fronds.. I would have loved to see him pull those over. He sits on the very top of my very huge Magnolia tree which is out in front of the house and has a beautiful song venue. I had never heard of a bird building that type of nest but as I have seen where he goes I looked it up and sure enough that is the Brown Thrasher's nest. I never see the female. She may be hiding under the pile he has built. It was all so neat. The feathers looked like he had placed them one by one and the circle was completely covered very neatly. Had to share this. love, jo |

Thank you, Jo. How lovely for you to have such a song bird on your property. I also looked it up and apparently they have about 3000 "songs" - and we as a species drown them all out with TV, radios, etc. Not so surprising I suppose when one considers that we also don't generally even listen to people - too busy wanting to put our own views forward. I actually don't like the world very much but do my best to live in it. Helen |

How firm their faith in love that through grace allows true flight to acquire and imbibe lasting sustenance. Amazingly beautiful, dear Helen! And I also enjoyed Martyjo's story! 3000 songs you say? I am speechless and oh ... how can we not LOVE a world that contains such wonders? Margherita |

Hi, Margherita and thanks. Oh, yes, it's a wonderful world ... without people but, but, etc., there are some people who enhance the beautiful. Hmm? Is that possible? Beautiful is beautiful is beautiful. Hugs Helen |
