where the raven was that dreadful night
…maybe toasting the sweet Lenore with a beer
or baring its fangs and taking a bite
…who hides in shadows or under the beds
the Raven nonetheless you say… well, duh
…he's patriotic, born and bred
red, white and blue inside his skull
…what's it all about Alfie
the turmoil and strife we reap
…someone please hand me the key
so I can find my bed and my lost sleep

I really like this and I can't quite put my finger on why...maybe it is the Poe references...I don't know, it is just way cool.

Yeah, I started the poem out as a treatise on the youth of today, Lori, but that was quickly abandoned and went dark instead. Dark and me, we understand one another I think. Appreciate seeing you here.
