I’m sitting here thinking about you Listening to some song of bygone days When youth raged inside, a tempest And tomorrow was just an endless haze There was you within me all the while I can hear it in everything you say Every joyous note in crescendo And soft, the softest notes cascade I often wonder what causes this This thing together we share in hearts What are the motives why we love To be bound together from the start In the silence that fills the gulf between I guess not what you may be thinking Within the depths of your soul unguarded What thoughts there of me will bring So I sit here and wonder to myself Two thoughts rise to compete Do we love in order to be loved? Or, do we love no matter the receipt? I have decided it is a selfish motive That I hold you dear, my own treasure For in the giving is given the receiving And becomes my absolute pleasure |

It makes one wonder what songs you listen to... me? I like the oldies... it beckons old loves... and the loves songs themselves will never be repeated! ![]() Thank you for this one! |
