Death’s shadow creeps into the room Through doors hinged by time’s decay It creaks as if to signal gloom And drive her mem’ries soft away We’ll meet on shores of sweet delight Perhaps my ticket travels first While day slips silently into night And blessedness sips sounds uncursed While away the hours of dust-strewn memories That shadow melancholy in shades of grief While away the hours of wonderings As life rests in the mistiness of relief So cherish slow the glory of her passing Into pure life everlasting...Into pure life everlasting… |

Dear Steaven, this is heartwrenchingly melancholic, but so beautifully written. So good to see you on Pip again! Love and peace. Margherita |

Margherita and Owl, thank you so much for the kind comments...without being melodramatic, I have spent the last few months dancing with death...this one was for my mother who recently passed away...and yes, she was worthy...thank you both...thank you much |

This was a worthy tribute to your mother. I especially found the closing couplet moving. |

Lindsay, you are much too kind...because of health problems I have not been able to read, much less write poetry...thank you for your warm reminder of just how much I have missed...of just how much it means...here's to hoping I can be around more...I really, really need to read some of the great work here again... |

Bobby, thank you for your kind words...glad you liked the last two lines...I changed that several times...something I do not like to do, finally deciding to just to do a repeat... |

"So cherish slow the glory of her passing Into pure life everlasting...Into pure life everlasting" ______________________________________________ This is a beautifully painful tribute to read, I am truly sorry for your loss. The repetition of "into pure life everlasting" is very effective and moving. |
