I suppose I'll have to learn. I'll teach my heart how to not yearn. I'll take a different path today. Forge stoic new roads as I say, "You do not hear him." Feel him, gone. Forget the words to those old songs. I will not smell the fancy bread-- I will not think about warm beds. I won't imagine what he'd say. No tears will roll and I won't pray. I can and will rebuild my walls; no ghosts will mock me in these halls. A bitter taste of love's regret abides where one-word hope of "yet" lived upon my heart and tongue; and I can't be forever young waiting for a word. |

a poignant, effective 'write' ... "I suppose I'll have to learn. I'll teach my heart how to not yearn." [good luck on that one though! ... speaking as one ever-surrounded by those 'ghosts'] applause for this 'penning' !! |

Hey Sweet Serenity. It¡¦s Jaime ¡K Maybe you¡¦ve forgotten about me? ![]() How are you all doing down there? I haven¡¦t written you in so long. I had been off Pip for nearly an entire year. I couldn¡¦t get on Pip for some obscure reason. We still don¡¦t know why. My friend, Robert, ended up having to create another identity on a different computer, obtain a Pip password and send it to me. And with that I was able to log in as Dadygoose. This poem reminds me how at times I have to make my own ¡§medicine¡¨ when I thinking I am being neglected or ignored. I try to tell myself Well, I have no choice but to tell myself I¡¦m really not. Like in my poem Gray Christmas. It is a very awkward, but I decided to go ahead and post it anyway. Anyway I¡¦ll be appearing here more often now. I don¡¦t think I will ever take for granted again that I can write stuff on Pip. Hugs you, Karen. Jaime Hey, nobody's human! |

I'm especially honored by these two replies--any friend of Kacy's is indeed a friend divine. *hearthugs* thank you |

Munch munch munch. Dear Serenity, Stoic is lame. It sucks. Hugely. Never go down that road. Nobody's happy there. Great write, I can relate. Sincerely, Paul Fall in love early, fall in love often. |

Knowing you for years now, I try to read with a distinctive eye... and yet heart words are warm and close. I wonder how poets read other poets in earlier years...with distain? Remorse? Did they know the writer so well? Did they disembark to be subjective? Objective? Did they learn to embrace the write, or the writer? This response is due to one of the responses I read within this, dear heart... I won't be so lame as to push this aside just because I disagree with a response... I hear you. Better yet, I feel this. ![]() |

Structured rhyme, impressive! Knowing only one side of a story is like listening to the sound of one hand clapping. |

Thanks all for reading. And for the record, I wasn't trying to construct an argument. I was attempting to convey the emotion of loneliness, and yes, I utilized several cliche's in this'n. Cliche's may be cliche', but I alluded to war of heart and mind, by alluding to my dear Willy Wonka: "Where is fancy bred? In the heart or in the head?" I could write an essay about all that, but I think for once, I'll just keep it simple, and let it be. *smile* Again, I appreciate each of you for taking the time. ![]() |

Much too accustomed to this of late - but on the bright side, it brought me back here. Sending all my love. (Do you suppose I could FedEx it? Might be faster.) You are as brilliant as ever. Ki |

"Hello, again, Pip." You'll have to talk to me personally to see all and hear all that I read and read again in your poem. It was good to read it again! It's a classic, believe me! Oh, so great are our expectations! ![]() ![]() |

((((Karen)))) and yet there is a certain sweetness in the yearning. You wish to change your emotions to better cope with what is and that is a good intention. Thank you so much for sharing your powerful words with us and just know you are loved... always. Love and hugs. Margherita ![]() |

Awwwwwwwww...you guys are great. ![]() and um, Kari? I think I get into trouble a lot because I don't know how to talk to people impersonally. That characteristic of mine seems to be a comfort to some, and an affront of "too familiar" to others. *shrug* Hell. I dunno what to do with me either. *laughing* Love to all! GREAT BIG HUGS FOR STRANGERS, TOO! ![]() |
