The Black Tracker An American tourist’s young wife who had strayed out of bounds Was being pursued by her husband who was trying to track her, Where rough tracks abound an aboriginal with his head to the ground Made the yank think it must be one of those famous black trackers. ‘Please can you tell me who has passed here,’ he wanted to know, And hoped the aboriginal would bring him a quick change of luck, The black man replied that it was a full half-hour ago And that the wheel tracks were made by an old pick up truck. ‘Must be something else you can tell me,’ said the disheartened yank Of the old black-man who was looking hard at the track, ‘Well, there are three white fellows in front who’ve just filled the tank And three black men, four women and ten kids in the back.’ This quite impressed the yank and then he asked what else Could he tell him about the truck that had just passed, ‘Well it had three yellow wheel-caps and two slack engine belts And on this very rough road it was travelling way too fast.’ This quite amazed the yank and in surprised wonder he looked At the black man who had patiently explained all the signs, On the old tracker’s expertise you could see he was hooked, Where as to him they were just a few indistinct lines. ‘All these things you can tell by putting your head to the ground, Why it’s quite amazing what you can read from a track,’ A sheepish look from the black man as he slowly looked round And said, ‘no I wasn’t blimey well watching and I fell off the back.’ Lindsay |

I can think of so many images here... one being the Three Stooges who would have liked a Fourth to carry this through.... Well done! A classic tarry forth in all situations! |

Hey Matey: wrote you a limerick reply since it's Saint Paddy's Day here: of 25 kids she did birth when asked: why so many? she thought the gal offered pennies depending on what they were worth! or who could tell a pretty good Storia but when he drank with a codger he became artful dodger said he was wounded on the Andrea Doria! Yo Lindsay, When in Australia I alwas made it a point not to stray out in the bush. I just don't understand the bush, and never will. Bobby |
