Oh mighty Nero, it is said Rome you set afire Did the flames burn higher than loves desire Oh what for the same passion to feel in my soul When fires ignite burning lips to drive away the cold Cleopatra you romanced the greatest Romans of the day Seductive body wrapped in a rug and delivered to Caesar this way Then Caesar fell and history tells of wars her love for Anthony waged Until the end their love they did defend until suicide was their escape Napoleon and his love for Josephine, her fervor not as warm from the start This love began on an awkward note, their honeymoon night the amusing part Josephine in bed with her trusted dog, a companion and her guardian to the end This miserable dog unhappy with competition bit Napoleon on his shin Then King Edward of England sacrificed for love at a very dear price Gave up his throne so the commoner Wallis Simpson could be his wife Who can forget one of Shakespeares' most popular plays, Romeo and Juliet One of the most tragic romances of two young lovers, still today a favorite text Will our love be as exciting, do you think any wars will be waged in our names Could it be possible our hearts stay young forever; perhaps, we can only dream When you read all the great novels and poems, create your own fairy tales Have a strong heart and willingness for adventure, against all odds you shall prevail |
