The day has long passed and darkness before me I behold My soul lying naked to the universe with the window open wide Staring at the stars twinkling, dancing sporatically across the sky Like a million piano keys, playing music to soothe my soul Hearing a squirrel scamper in the tree, darting into its nest And in the emptiness you can hear your heartbeat keeping time With the warble of unknown birds that oft seem to rhyme Time for reflection each and every night of the one that I love best As the moon in all its splendor cause the beast of the earth to bay You hear all the interruptions in stillness as you wait another day Its then my mind drifts like clouds of fog to a place that's so far away And wonder, does she hear the same night whispers from where she lays Doubts sometime darken my mind, and dimness covers my eyes once bright Yet my heart bids that I press on the path that Heaven laid, so I know this is right No dilemma too great for the heart that still beats inside of me, forever and a day So all the veils of uncertainty I willingly intend to unmask, Nights Whispering Haze |

Love your nightly poetic ponderings, dear Paul. I guess it is summer where you live ... those open windows made me guess. It's true, that Universe leans in closer at night ... Love, Margherita |
