How lucky one is,
when happiness finally does find
a small place in your heart
that you never even knew existed,
to settle down and start growing
some roots.

And yet,
it is the lack of certain wants
and desires that inevitably
is always such a big part,
of trying
to be happy.

No,
happiness is not so much
an ideal of reason
as it is
an ideal of our own acceptance,
to imagine.

They say that
being happy is not a place
but more a direction,
and that you can’t find it anyway,
it can only, find you.

And it has.

In the smile and love
we share,
of the same language
we never even knew
we spoke
together.

Funny,
how we talk about,
living in the moment all the time.

I mean if the previous second was the past,
and the one after that is the future,
then when does this thing called, the present,
actually take place?

For me,
my past is the present I have been given
to live thus far,
but,
it is my future, I am most concerned about,
maybe because I‘m going to be spending
the rest
of my life there,
with you.

Especially since recently,
as I was just sitting there
minding my own business,
in walked, tomorrow.

It was right then and there
when I realized that,
this thing called, our future,
was always
just simply waiting there
in the shadowed mist of soul
for her,
so it could start.

And even though
beauty is her power,
it was ultimately,
the sword
of her devotion
that finally
conquered me.

My past,
is the keeper of memory.

Past experiences that have added
to the verses
of my life,
my lyric if you will;
the lines that make up
the composition that is me,
that is us,
that is,
our poem.

If only I’d known sooner,
that the shortest distance between
two people
was their willingness to sacrifice,
with no regrets,
then I would have cut my heart
in half,
a long time ago.

So,
am I afraid of next?

No,
I am absolutely not.

So listen to that future,
and listen good.

Here I finally,
come.

You are going to make happen tomorrow right now!

This is extremely well thought out and a joy to read, dear Richy. And ... keep your heart whole, the melting process needs both hearts in their entirety, I think.

Love,
Margherita

Thank you so much dear friend!

You have always been there for me,
and for that, and for just being you,
you hold a special place in my heart.
