He picked up the jar I'd left on the bathroom vanity, asked me what it was as if I'd lost my sanity. "it's for wrinkles, to make them not so deep, to smooth and tighten the skin, turn my cells over in my sleep" He picked up the box with the picture of the woman smiling through gorgeous hair, and inquired, "what's this for?" I looked in the mirror and pointed "there... for these strands that are no longer red or blonde, but white as snow... I promised to grow old with you but I didn't say I'd quietly go." He grabbed my face with both hands and planted a kiss that shifted sands, he said, "you don't need this box or jar, I love you forever just the way you are." |

Great poem Dixie. I liked the visual storytelling device you employed. And the rhyme scheme. I am a sucker for a good rhyming. lol |

We should all have someone who says that to us... Nicely done, Dixie. M |

How charming! This made me smile. If I don't say it...who will? |

My husband came in right now and I referred to him the content of your poem and he just confirmed with a kiss that he is of the same opinion! That's great, but still we feel the need to "sustain" nature a little ... Very nice write. Love and hugs. Margherita ![]() |

Dixie, I love your poem, if you want to use a jar, please do it, do what you want to enjoy yourself, the poem as a very tender morale and is very convincing... thanks yann |
