Guarded I am not going to talk. … and the counselor says: Guarded, Let’s talk about feeling guarded … To myself, I mutter: Oh, go to hell! She tries to start a conversation. She talks about French toast. Another tac to make me talk. I tell her I’m not talking by not talking. (talking at this place won’t matter, Because they’ll just answer me in Martian). I ignore until she’s out of words. Until she has to let me go. I have kept myself to myself. At least for one “counseling” session. I don’t need to tell these people anything. They’ll look it up in my file anyway. I ignore their verdict of learning disability, And all of that, because I know it doesn’t matter. It’s too painful to remember. I talk to friends when I get out. And now I can tell you Because I know you are my friends. Because I know you understand. [This message has been edited by Balladeer (02-14-2010 11:15 PM).] |

I know the professionals are able to help many people but I understand this very well... I've heard some of that Martian-speak, too. *S* Give me a pen any day! *S* Well written!! |
