These arms received an apparition
empty eyes, empty smile,
something evil at the end

I am queen of "fooled"
desperate to save what
thrives in flames

she calls like a siren,
"mama, save!"

how many burns before I see?

There is no child!

There is no child!

As a parent, you hope for the best. In the end, when that child becomes an adult, they must choose their own path- no matter how heart breaking it may be.

Thanks for reading.

In a dream a set of parameters is constructed, one might say contracted for, like in a runtime software, almost. And.... Sometimes to escape the dream we must awake, and exit in that way, "Tron-like" through the race course wall.

It's all natural, the way we're constructed for here in this world.

I'm guessing that at least several readers have had dreams like you describe in this very heartfelt and somewhat shaking poem. Not exactly the same, of course, but similar. They can be tortuous indeed. Best of luck to you and to your loved ones!

Sun,

I may well know of your pain. I can only guess.

What I know personally, is wrenching, nearly disfigurative, and yet... I had to let go, less I be other than the remainder of my family might want and need. My first child is and always will be bipolar.

And in truth, there is a certain amount of freedom, especially knowing that I and her stepfather did all we could to help when it was diagnosed.

I continue to pray for her.

K

Thank you, Karilea, for sharing a bit of your life with me here.

My daughter was diagnosed with major depression though I have my suspicions that she may be bipolar due to the extremes we have witnessed.

Her latest "extreme" was to move many states away with my three year old granddaughter.  We too, do a lot of praying.

*hugs*
