You've always been an illusion
That I could never catch
A figure that I couldn't feel
With a heart made out of steel.

A whispered voice inside my head
With a lock around the heart
A voice that spoke my mind unheard
A temptress soon unfurled.

A lie you told, that's how it starts
A manipulation of truth
You took my heart and tore it out
And I couldn't even shout.

A faded truth, a broken tale
Your lies are catching up,
But alas that was the plan
Was it just because you can?

You took my life, grabbed the strings
You kicked me from my mind
And suddenly there's a stranger there
A rip inside a tear.

I'm staring at a mirror
A reflection of one's self,
But this person I see right here
Is someone that I fear.
