Listening to every heart

A Thursday Poem on Sunday

You blessed yourself with magic, a little over
a year ago, with a charming book…

one,  that with some slight push of thumb
would wonderfully provide instant words
beneath your fingers…
so in love were you with all that could be
taken and reveled in, dreamscapes to whisk you
away to more wondrous moments
and mask all that which you might no longer
lay mind to, now that your mind was set.

Although I remember wondering, why would
you spend so much on a toy when you literally
lived within a library…the thousands of books
you loved, kept, treasured…

only now realizing, how silly are we
who are yet to grow into time?

You had never complained of weight
though you mentioned how you missed the shssh
of page to page…
yet this little miraculous thump of electrons triumphant
was held so lightly, so majestically, magically between
your fine hands…and it even followed you
all the way through, residing even there,
in your hospice room.

I’m fairly sure you probably downloaded
a bible or more…and used the highlight feature…
reflecting only now that just months before,
I couldn’t understand the need…
until it was gifted to me, today.

I’m sure, my ever-watchful friend…
that you were whispering in the ear of
someone dear, once again.

I miss you. And now, I’ll try my eye upon
all the tomes that you read,

if I might try to read your now elusive mind,
once again.

I don't know who this is about but it's very touching!

"I’m sure, my ever-watchful friend…
that you were whispering in the ear of
someone dear, once again.

I miss you. And now, I’ll try my eye upon
all the tomes that you read,

if I might try to read your now elusive mind,
once again."

Held me right on the page all the way down through the read.

You show how much you cared and also how much you really knew your friend. What  a wonderful feeling to have had a friend so close in heart. I aslo have had such a friend.
Her name was Ello for Eleanora, may they both, your friend and mine, never be  forgotten. best to you Karilea, jo

Sunshine!
How wonderful! Louise said she would stay close and that she has. What a wonderful way to share and remember this holiday with her.

Remembering friends who are no longer with us is an always nice thing to do.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own

you are able to read the soul of this person, so well, like you were twins...or soul mates...beautifully written and very much enjoyed your dear heart.

beautifully written piece ... it's wonderful to have, or to have had such a good friend ... one who knows your feelings, even without words

One of the "goosebumpy" kind!
Truly a matter of the heart, so beautifully rendered, dear Karilea.

(of course she saw to it in her very special way through heavenly signalling).

Love,
Margherita

..oh,the stories within each of us.  What is that saying about "making books thy best friends and thy best friends books"? I like the touches in this poem, the imprints and impressions and the dreams midstream in time that carry on because we still feel them breathing after they pass.

Aw, Karilea, you leave me pondering and reaching, both...with this one.
