I raise my glass to all those from the past
from this frame we sing praise to the last
in honor we stand to the long line of cast
we celebrate those who raised the mast
unsurpassed in deeds and courage vast
to the hero's to the formulas that outlast
to those beliefs born from god we stand fast.

We do indeed owe great deal to those who have lived in the past. From scientist to philosophers to those who delve into the soul. Our lives would be quite different if those hadn't blazed the pioneer trails for us.
