Juan was a native down Mexico way, He lived on the beach, where he worked every day, Juan dug clams for a living, along with his pet, A frisky young sea otter, he'd won in a bet. Both would dig clams, they were the best, The otter and Juan, always outdid the rest. One day a tourist, approached Juan to say, If you dig me some clams, ten pesos I'll pay, Juan he replied, ten pesos for me, And five pesos more for the otter you see. The tourist said no, I only want you, I don't need the otter, alone you will do. Juan told the tourist, as he stood in sea's water, You cannot have Juan without the otter. |
