P.S. for Serenity

"She was changeable, set in her ways and moody,"

I saw riddle of description,
identifying sides, facets? To this
exposé of a woman
whose husky voice quite possibly
is mimicked, unknowingly,
by a poet imitating life…

Mimics imitating moods,
don’t you see us as we are?

Mercurial natures are akin to artists
of any kind, be they
writer, painter, grouter of patterns
which structure our lives;

dancer, singer, teller of tales…

She was changeable, set in her ways and moody.

How can one be set in any way, yet changing,
or should that, could that
be, changeling?

Frances looks over my shoulder,
she has taken Rainer’s place, he is now
on the window ledge;

but both are whispering
that Peggy Sue needs a new life,
a reason to kick down the door
and let her moodiness show

and I laugh, a bit hysterically, perhaps,
as the pen point skips beneath my fingertips
in anxious need,

anticipation notwithstanding,

that while they understand me?

They have yet
to wear my slippers.

I'm sure there's a story or two in there that I know nothing about.

However, I got lost in that excellent Jungel of words and I saw someone there, I knew it had to be you.
And there you were in your slippers (I think they were those ones you had as a kid with the big bunny tail on the toes) writing for a friend as all good friends will do.
However,
I have never known Prince Ranier to stand on a ledge. You could fall a long way down from the Principality Of Monaco and that would be a petite problem.

You're creative and good kid. And I'm sure there's no one that could fill your slippers.....smile....

Take care

Sorry. I wanted to show up if only to say I can't "get" what you are writing about. If it is "Serenity" of PiP it has to be personal. Strange way to comment I admit, but . . .

Eric, my friend...

That would be Rainer Marie Rilke, a 19th century poet. As you can see from the date, this is an oldie [but goodie?] that certain conversations and growth led me back to review...and I thought it was time for Peggy Sue, Frances Farmer, and Rainer to all come back out and play around in my head.

And I am more a moccasin slipper type gal...and always have been.

Glad you enjoyed the read, my friend.

And Jerry...you are welcome anytime...sometimes I don't get myself, either, but feel there's a gem in there anyway, somewhere, in spite of me.

He he well, I was having a little fun because I didn't understand the depth of the poem and this was creeping down the board so I needed to have a look.
I know you're a good sport so I hope all my silliness didn't destroy what you're trying to get across..
Have you written your book yet, 'Poetry For Dummies?' Sign me up for a copy.

Now that "Peggy Sue" is the same one Buddy Holly sang about isn't it? Sorry I had that all screwed up.

Take care and don't pay any attention to me.

Oh, I am sure there are more gems in there than one. I am the dense one here.

Had to run this back up the line so it can be appreciated for the kindness and beauty it was meant to receive.

Mercury is retorgrade in Capricorn until December 30.

It also happens to be a combo esbat sabbat as the full moon reveals herself on solstice.

I just told my husband to double my life insurance premium.

And all of this seems like I'm kidding but I'm not.

Thanks for this reminder, and I have an oldie but goodie too, a quote from Lynyrd Skynyrd,

"there's things goin' on that you don't know..."

Sorry for teasing everyone, but if I start talking? Well, as I told a friend, it's akin to someone chain smoking on a powderkeg.

Thank you, Kari.

And remember how Peggy Sue ended, hon.

I think we're stuck with that so we might as well make it work. sigh

We are, baby...we are...

that's what you and I do! We make it work.

But I remember more how Frannie left it all...
