Thunder storms the void wherein contentment lives and lightening brings the sparks to relight the fires of love. Contentment of necessity must completely split and break before the fire of ages past can burn as if it never died. But die it did, we know it did, and we bear the scars of agony to not forget the price we paid for sinking coffins in the soul. To resurrect the dead and be upright again in disregard of ash and scars and agony perhaps the stuff of fantasy. But I am fond of fantasy; it's pliable and mirrors me and we both suffer, yes, it's true, on our long walk to freedom. Fantasy! Oh, there you are. Don't walk so far ahead because I am prone to lose the thread that tethers you to me. And fantasy turned back again, wound the thread tight, tighter still, because we are one until true love severs threads and sets us free! Helen / 19 December 2010 |

One of the best of yours I have read, Helen. Deep, philosophical poetry which begs the unanswered question: can you recross that burned bridge of love? A difficult thing to do. Too many spiteful words thrown around for both parties. It is wonderful, at first, this reliving the old love. But this love can never overcome the slings and arrows of the old one. I guess it happens every so often, and it is worth a try, but it is so difficult to bury the anger and yes, hate, of before. I'll hush now. |

Hey Helen, nice writing here. Sometimes it seems like fantasy is almost enough to get one by but it always comes up lacking reality. That's where the problems begin again, reality verses fantasy and why can't my wildest dreams come true. I'd be really good to someone you might say but I want them to good to me in just the same way. How do you actually measure that? One or the other always comes out on the short end of the stick so who's to be the most self sacrificing? What's really fair? Or is it all a peculiar set up? From infatuation to reality tests the strength of the strongest characters and some are found wanting. So already having gone through it all creates a puzzle that only fantasy can blanket at least for a little while. Great stuff! Write on! Eric My favorite oxymoron, "rap music" |

Thank you, Jerry and Eric, for your in-depth replies. Sometimes my stories get in the way of the point of the matter but it seems not to have in this instance and so I thank you for the ... knowing. Helen |

For sure one of your very best Helen. I often wondered myself while moving on, about some of those bridges I had burned out of sheer stubbornness. Merry Christmas Everyone! |
