Perhaps I would have thrived fairly well In the time of Wordsworth and Coleridge, For I am, at heart, a romantic, having no passionate regard For form, fashion, and the contrivance of periods. I am a lover of all things deemed good by what I think to be the higher senses of my being, and I love To the deepest marrow of my soul, and should I weep, I want to think my hurt to be without pretense, or self-pity. I do love, and I fear, and I pray, for I have faith, Even in the fog of the incomprehensible. [This message has been edited by gilead (12-16-2010 05:35 PM).] |

To take on "the fog of the incomprehensible" is a mighty undertaking. The romantic in us finds it way to the forefront as cream rises to the top. Loving deeply and hurting unashamedly is the mark of goodness and grace. |

Thanks, Jerry. I think this mostly arose out of spending too much time viewing the news---trouble everywhere, and the most I can do is care. Art |

What's not to like in the whole of this offering? Excellent, through and through. But if I were to point to what I liked best, that second stanza is of the highest quality. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Having read my share of poems on this site I know when I come across a real gem. This is such an occasion. |

"I do love, and I fear, and I pray, for I have faith, even in the fog of the incomprehensible." I do love your poem, especially the above, and I think that just caring is actually doing a lot. Keep on caring. Helen |

Love the title of this piece. This last part is precious. "Even in the fog of the incomprehensible." Good thoughts well expressed throughout. Eric My favorite oxymoron, "rap music" |

Your last stanza... fits [or should fit] everyone... for if we don't know that? However could we write? Happy New Year, Gilead! |
