The wind sweeps the ocean waves
into hooked peaks only seagull braves,
soaring atop wind swept waves
landing on islands of shipwreck graves.

Oh captain Oh captain the seagulls have landed
secure the cannons and light the fuses commanded
steady your aim ready to fire the captain demanded
will send those birds to the oceans depths single handed.

Oh, noooo!! That's spooky and sad! Usually there is harmony between sailormen and seagulls, but you seem to know another legend.

I am a romantic and thinking of "Jonathan Livingstone" who was very brave too ...

Love,
Margherita

A haunting terror of unnecessary destruction is the dominant theme of this poem.  Scary.... It was worth the read.
