You said “I’ll always love you” You said “You can have my last name” You said “Come as close as you can get” You said “Playing with you is my favorite game” And I remember All the little things I remember The songs you used to make me sing And it hurts me Crushes me I stop breathing My heart stops beating And then I scream LIAR! You lied to me You said what you said Would always be true But its not We’re not us anymore And it hurts me It hurts me that you lied I was a naïve little girl When you said you’d Show me the rest of the world I didn’t know What to think or to say But you kissed All of my fears away And said we’d always be us LIAR We’re not together Nothing is right now It’s all wrong, all wrong And I revel in my pain Because I know it hurts you too And as awful as that should make me feel I never lied to you. |

Three Dog Night was in the back of my mind as I read this, pen&paper. That's not a bad thing. |
