It was her Ahhh… Her ahhh…was like a slow landslide of quiet noise, sensual, sincere… and sometimes even held a lilt of Ireland within the nasal slide, not abrasive as if at the doctor’s command when having to stick out one’s tongue, but more a wondering, wandering thought, often given after some discussion and then, when realization occurred…always pensive, compassionate, sincerely sensitive…it was never an ‘aha!’ moment…unless it was over her own talking out a problem when she finally discovered the source of pebbled thought or when she was winning at Scrabble. That was a totally different resonance… I think I loved her ahhhs the most when the sound was uttered after a reading of poetry, maybe mine...maybe Rumi’s…or maybe if I read her own back to her with different inflections, that strange and different bent only friends can give, and she heard a wholly strange and new story from her own words… and it became the Ahhh…approving, finally, of what she intended to hear, after all. © KRJ 9 Dec 10 a Thursday poem |

The nuances of saying Ahhh can be delicate to understand. I think the wavelength needed for this understanding is personal and profound. But even to a novice you can surely tell the difference between Ahhh and Ahhh, it goes without saying. Psst, the secret is to watch the eyes . . . |

Sissie....Interesting how a sound can be filled with so much meaning, especially when listened to by loving ears. |

Nice, very nice indeed. Your writing is the reflection of truth and life itself. An "ahhh" unto itself. Thank you for sharing this piece. I bow to you and yours. |

I feel this to my toes, the throes of thought and revelation that illumines something meaningful so that the heart owns it. I do that, too(although not always verbally), when poetry someone else writes feels as if I they reach in and say, I know you! And I'm glad. |

"but more a wondering, wandering thought, often given after some discussion and then, when realization occurred…always pensive, compassionate, sincerely sensitive…it was never an ‘aha!’ moment…unless it was over her own talking out a problem when she finally discovered the source of pebbled thought" Excellent personality depiction. Ahhh, I think I got it and .... I enjoyed it thoroughly. Eric |
