In Your Poetic Mind

you were there and I dreamnt' of
open fields and rocked the baby
beside the burnt house and broken windows

and I wondered if you were happy?
you asked if I was comfortable--
to the west the mountains seemed
impossible, the climb was hard
but we knew that --

the wind was harsh atop
so I let it carry the paper
and watched it float --
you laughed "it's only a dream"
but I knew it was true

I cried
you felt nothing
my tears fell empty

I was dreaming, holding the baby
in a field of purple
beside the black house and broken window/s
but, the rocking chair was

empty

Beautiful, woozy, longing, almost despairing? I love your poetic voice.

My best~

Lady L...

would always imagine you with a hat on
the wide brimmed dark felt kind
and your eyes are cool pools
only part of the time reflecting

enjoyed it lady

You have sort of a smirk in the photo (that's what I see and I ain't changing my mind) and the smirk kinda transposed itself in the poem.

The first and last verses have a kinship, the only thing missing is is the other person and the baby. Very low keyed dramatics.

I see you dream in color, and they are wonderfully vivid.

It's so nice to find your words here, Lauren.

Wishing you joy and many blessings.
