and as my hand traces over my "battle scars" caused by climbing Daddy's jeep and over the proof that I once thought- I could fly I'm reminded of a time when band aids and kisses, was all that was needed to heal How I miss those simple days, as my hand traces over the scars that define me -Trina. |

Scars, both physical and mentally, Trina, are the signposts of our life's experiences. Some are there to remind us of our invincibility, some are there to warn us that we are not invincible. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Trina: I remember reading a poem with the line: "scars make your body more interesting". It always stuck. Yes, scars are painful reminders of what life (and people) can do to us, but we must rise above the hurt--and certainly poetry affords us the opportunity for catharsis--for healing. wonderful read! I am in awe of your ability to write something so meaningful in less words than it takes some to say hello. latearrival |

Sinfully innocent! ---that alone tells me that I am on the threshold of something worthy of reading. The scars are markings on the badge, the emblem of ourselves, and you have expressed this simple truth with artistry that resonates in the upper ear of the listening mind! I love your poetry -- Art |

I love this write. It is such truth, Trina. Maybe my little boy, the one who will wear scars on his face for life, will read this someday and feel stronger. Wonderful writing. My best~ Amaryllis A pile of scribbles here: |

Quite powerful. Thankfully, the majority of my scars are physical. I once saw my hospital records when I was 16. The file was about five inches thick. The docs knew me on a first name basis. I'm not joking. It wasn't that I was ill, just prone to injury. I think I aged my parents 20 years in a 5 year span of time. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
