My small country town
Summertime 'twas brown
I played like a clown
Even wore a crown
Curly mop hair mound
As I went around
I tried not to frown
To stay up, not down
My dreams were profound

A sweetly youthful poem, Jerry...when dreams really can be profound.

Yes, I'm trying to be non-depressing these days, Martie. Thank you.

Feeling the positivity in these lines, way to go, Jerry. Dreaming is always a good thing to do.

I adore profound...
especially when found
in dreams.

Write on, Sir!

This reminds me of my youth when all of my simple thoughts were profound.  A nice poem that will stick with me.

Isn't that the truth, Earl? At that age everything we thought was, to us, very profound. Thank you for being here.
