There are things to keep and things to let go and they jumble themselves into a disordered mess knotted and twisted and intertwined like the past, present, future, all jointly combined. To start at one end and attempt the unravel a nightmare not e'er to cease when soul unleashed and set free to be where it was, where it is now, and where it is going to. And the fingers know well how to let it all lie until the dawn of mental dexterity that sifts and sorts and discards the glittering stars of the past and the moon's fanciful promise of an amazing future. But in that time before the dawn there are sobs in the ether of time that hang like clouds never gone over the now heaven sent. And the heaven sent merely the means of making the future a tearful event or it could be simply a game, live/cry/die, live/cry/die, sorry, my friend, you're "it"! Helen / 5 December 2010 |

Helen, this touched me in many ways... I've become too thoughtful of late and sometimes the mortality of it all is too evident. M |

I have come to that conclusion a few years back. Someone recently, after reading a poem of mine, said it was too sad for the Christmas season. What can I do? My muse is a sad muse for the most part. Love this poem. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Thanks, Maureen. Life sometimes just seems to have been a waste of time but I suppose there must be a reason for it - I hope there is at any rate. Hi Jerry - Hmm? I think it was me who said your poem was sad for the Christmas season but then again we both know how sadness like all things comes and then goes. Lori - Thank you for reading and for your kind comment. Helen |
