Going overboard

Barren! after harvest cracks decorate winter fields,
Barbed wire fences twisting invisible fire shields,
Fragile tiny roots tremble through every passing breeze,
Dryness in dampness portraits notions of bitter freeze,

Jobless scarecrows staring eyes bear a vacant look,
Moles digging deeper holes, he’s an age old crook,
Stray mouth dogs perform timely team hurdle again,
Falling leaves are like failing electorate campaign,

Misty stubbornness beholds every damp window sill,
Sun’s hazy pretending glance through deep downhill,
Opportunist! migrating gentle wings no longer flutter,
Ever busy warm borrows stay still, there’s no mutter,

Sudden chirping disturbing pleasant moments of clam,
Came from junk backyard, hallow wood, wheels of scam,
Grayish visiting little mimics constant restless jumping,
Enhancing! Going overboard Mockingbird’s thumping.

Impressive imagery, dear Prasad, that lingers on the reader's mind.

You did a great job.

You are able to give the reader so much to hang onto and see than most poets, my friend. Enjoyed this one even though "Jobless scarecrows staring eyes bear a vacant look," are one crop away from being homeless.

I love this poem! It takes me right back to India. I can see it, hear it, smell it. "Dryness in dampness" speaks so clearly as do a number of other phrases. A wonderful portrait of a country I love. Bravo and encore!

This is wonderful to experience... much late fall/early winter imagery... so very atmospheric, great writing, Prasad.
