For A Father

My heart pads upon silent trails
tucked in the niche of safe anguish.
For within the pain, is the pleasure
the laying of hands, a killersoft smile.

It is you, saunter and prance,
that guides the rhythm of footfalls
oil for emotions that often squeak
and strong hooves to carry another's weight.

Tell me, now, is fate scheduled
or is it a cloud, shaped by events,
torn and pulled by gales of desires?
The answer is hidden beneath closed eyelids.

My brotherhood, that longs to give,
has run out of causes, but there is no greater
than staying the ruin of love, and prevention of chaos.
Still it remains, unspoiled, the love of you
the desire to please you
and force upon your lips
a killersoft smile.

Hi Jeff~
I love this soft, wistful devotion. Your gift for sonics and simile is immense! I always enjoy reading your pieces.

"staying the ruin of love"

That just about say everything there is to say here.  Nice going.

Liked it all very much but thought the above was a great climax and such an excellent verse.

It is a touching piece, thought provoking too and absolutely beautifully written.

Love,
