It came to me one day when I remembered jimmy smith,
who used to play with me when we were kids.
One year his parents gave him A birthday toy called, Operation.
It was made of plastic, with different colored organs,
And the circulatory system all mapped out .
a pair of tweezers to pull out the organs
one fatal mistake and a ringing obnoxious buzzard went off,
but it brought us hours of fun .Back in the day
when all we had to worry about was our school grades ,
other then that it was a wonderful life.

Memories and ponderings over life are well expressed here.

Enjoyed.

Yes, I miss those innocent times as well! My own kids still play Operation. Better than all the digital games, I say.   (Which they also have too many of!)

Fun write, nice memories..

Best~

I liked Operation and Break the Ice when I was a kid.  Thanks for bringing back the memories.

I remember 'Operation' but never played it. Must have been a hoot all the same.

Great reminiscing Mike....We all had no idea how we had the world by the tail back then.

Hi,

I, too, enjoyed the times of innocence this brought to mind.   It's quite a contrast is a plastic heart and circulatory system to what mankind has!  Interesting and much enjoyed your writing.

It's funny how we all see our childhoods as being a better time~~~ I know that my parents and theirs before them thought the same. I am always saying "I remember when"  then have to remind myself that I was sounding like my parents.

Didn’t have many toys, a rocking wooden horse at the corner was really fine company. Innocent times are always not very pleasant for everyone though. Enjoyed.
