you were doing your traditional
making everything seem like christmas
I guess edison called and said they missed
the additional 1000 lights along the eve
and the testing of the grids down main street
when you turned on your life sized holy land
complete with robotic shepherds and 3D sheep

you mentioned I should get into the spirit too
and not so much into the spirits I usually did
but take some time decorating festive things
making the everyday more red and green
listening to noel instead of leon and willie
smile at the children instead of flipping them off
the teetor-totter into the cactus tree

it was a blustery morning when I listened
turned my skin from pale to dark red
and yes I was naked except for the cowboy boots
and the antlers duct taped to my helmet
but the old harley was decorated perfect
a couple of red balls adorned the leather
and some mistletoe hung from around my waist

before you made me get off and go back to my room

Haha! What an image you presented for us to visualize and chuckle over / Never stop listen to willie and his hand jive.

Christmas Sprit of sorts, Daark!  You gave the shirt right off your back. All those lights strung in hopes of spontaneous ignition?

Christmas has never been presented in this light - crazy and ballsy.  I`d be careful because Santa is still checking his list to see who has been naughty or nice.

I can Definitely say it's one of the more interesting Christmas poems I've seen...and the most entertaining. A lot of eggnog went into this one....love it!

He he DS that life sized holy land drew a heap of current off the grid........
Pooh pooh the energy crises........

You must have been quite a sight on the old Harley that day. I can only imagine.

I thoroughly enjoyed this piece Daark but probably not as much as you enjoyed writing it...

Ah, well, 'Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues.'

Have a good one!

You made me chuckle with this one! You are also a master of satire! And of course I had to check leon ... and enjoyed the discovery.

Helluva visual.

My family and I call those electric Christmas folks "Griswalds". As in Clark Griswald? If I want that much light I'll damned well wake up in the day time.
